Enter the Secret Place

Dear Secret Seekers,

This blog is intended to be the place for us to discuss the Word, the book "Secrets of the Secret Place" (SSP), revelations and struggles from our time in the secret place, and to catch up on what we did/read/discussed at our weekly Sunday meetings.

I want to encourage each of you to comment as you feel led, and if you eventually want to create a post, I'm all for it! (You'll just need to let me know and and be registered on blogger and I'll add you as an author) If you also have your own blogs too, or want to create one to journal your time in the secret place, go for it and I'll add a link on this blog which will update every time you make a new post.

The first chapter of SSP is The Secret of Saying 'Yes'. By being a part of this sphere, you are saying 'yes' to Jesus' invitation of Matthew 6:6. Its about saying 'yes' when the Spirit urges you to shut off the TV and commune with Him instead. Its about saying 'yes' when you're already running late for work but want to stop and thank God for the new day.

Consider this question throughout the week: What do you sense God specifically calling you to regarding the secret place?

Here are a few verses that I really enjoyed reading yesterday:

Psalm 102:16-22

16 For the LORD shall build up Zion;
He shall appear in His glory.
17 He shall regard the prayer of the destitute,
And shall not despise their prayer.
18 This will be written for the generation to come,
That a people yet to be created may praise the LORD.
19 For He looked down from the height of His sanctuary;
From heaven the LORD viewed the earth,
20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner,
To release those appointed to death,
21 To declare the name of the LORD in Zion,
And His praise in Jerusalem,
22 When the peoples are gathered together,
And the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.

WE are the "generation to come" that this anonymous psalmist mentions -- Let us praise the Lord that He has given us His Word to study and guide us, and that He hears the prayers of our beloved: the poor, the orphaned, widowed, and chained!
